The Red Wolf - Threats
The most threatening to the Red Wolf is habitat loss, but there are other threats. Illegal hunting is a major one. Another one is the fact that they would prey upon live stock thus resulting in being killed by farmers and ranchers.
Others include aggressive predator control programs and disease. Although they have no natural enemies they do still have to compete with other predators for food, and sometimes other animals such as the Black Bear.
